Edge banding – function and areas of application
Edge banding consists of narrow strips of material, mainly plastic, veneer, or melamine, which are used to finish furniture edges. They cover the cut edges of wood-based materials such as chipboard or MDF boards and ensure a visually clean and durable surface. In addition to enhancing the appearance, edge banding protects the material from moisture and mechanical stress. It is particularly indispensable in furniture and interior design, as it offers a durable and aesthetic solution.

Materials and advantages of edge banding
Depending on the requirements, different materials and decors are available, so that edge banding can be perfectly adapted to the respective surface. Plastic edging strips impress with their high resistance and easy processing, while veneer edging strips create a natural wood look. Melamine edging strips are an inexpensive and versatile option for standard applications. Thanks to modern manufacturing techniques, edging strips can be used in various widths, colors, and designs, enabling flexible design in furniture construction.
